作物在田間很難作隔離，樹木也不太可能做到(你很難去移動它們)，因此早期發現是非常重要的工作，PocketDIAGNOSTIC 公司出了疫病快篩組，可以快速檢測 Phytophthora 、Potato virus、Ralstonia solanacearum。

1. Select a sample (as detailed below)

2. Cut or tear sample into small pieces and put into bottle containing buffer and ball bearings

3. Shake firmly for 30-60 seconds to break up the sample and allow the liquid to settle

4. Draw liquid into the pipette – avoid sample debris and air bubbles

5. Keeping the test device level, add 2 drops into the sample well of the device

6. Valid results within 10 minutes

How To Test Wood Samples

• Select a sample using a fine blade. Remove the outer bark or external root covering to reveal the soft bark. Samples need to include both the leading edge* and a small area just in front of this (*the area where the diseased part of the plant meets the healthy part of the plant). Note: the test does not work directly on ooze from the cankers.

• Samples must be broken down prior to placing in the extraction bottle. This is best done by finely slicing and crushing.

• Add the sample to the extraction buffer and secure the lid tightly.

• Shake the bottle vigorously for 60 seconds.

• Allow the plant debris to settle to the bottom and then draw up the extraction liquid into the pipette. Add 2-3 drops into the sample well avoiding adding any air bubbles or debris.

• Valid results appear within 10 minutes. Do not count any results after 10 minutes. One line is a negative result and two lines is a positive result.
